  • A set of black or neutral clothes that you won’t mind getting dirty during your 4 hour Casting Shift

  • A genre cup/mug/container to drink from

  • Extra set of clothes for after game

  • Bedding & Toiletries

  • Food for the weekend if you choose not to do the meal plan

  • An open, creative mind

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  • HOT temperatures (high 90s or even into the 100s) during the day

  • COLD temperatures at night in some seasons

  • Prepare for the above by dressing in layers, wearing SUN PROTECTION, drinking plenty of WATER and eating SALTY SNACKS for electrolytes. Take BREAKS from physical activity as needed. HEAT STROKE is a serious medical condition - be proactive about your health and safety, and watch out for your fellow players.

  • Get enough SLEEP.

  • Take any required MEDICATIONS. We cannot provide any medications to you.

  • Be wary of WILDLIFE on site. These include boar, coyotes, snakes, skunks and racoons. Use the BUDDY SYSTEM outside of the village. Particularly vicious mosquitoes come out in the evening. Wear BUG SPRAY.

OPENING CEREMONIES and ORIENTATION

Opening ceremony is held at 8pm Friday night in the tavern and lasts for about 30 minutes. During the announcements we talk about recurring IG and OOG game mechanics to note, and any new mechanics for the event. New players are then directed to a separate location where our New Player Guide will talk with everyone for about an hour and go into more detail about the game and answer any last minute questions there may be. This hour orientation is mandatory for all new players. If you happen to miss this time frame a team member will be happy to walk you through it later.

INGREDIENTS LIST

The Ingredients List is meant to give players a sense of what themes will be covered during a typical event. A player will always have the ability to “opt out” of scenes where they do not feel comfortable. Opting out includes giving the “thumbs down” sign to another person.
