THE LOCAL WASTES

THE DEVIL’S OAKS

Looming to the northeast, the Devil’s Oaks mountain range is steep and foreboding, with the Lonely Mountain as its highest peak, opening upon the Chernobog, a gravemouth of epic proportion. And yet, it is here that the Hellions journey each summer in the wake of the zombie Drive Thru. The Devil’s Oaks are the ancestral home of the Old Ones in its forest, and the Children of the Mountain in the necropolis below. The roaming Thru Hiker settlement of Nowhere passes through here, and hosted the Hellions twice during the Wandering.

AX SEAPORT

The Broken Coast is aptly named. In fact, in some circles it is known as the Shattered Coast, and nowhere is this more appropriate than in the archipelagos that surround AX Seaport. The island of The Magic Kingdom just recently surfaced nearby. It was only with the assistance of the Hellions during the Wandering and a Spire Crystal device designed by Dr. Spanner that the Baywalkers of AX Seaport were able to withstand an assault from the Dread Fleet. It was also in this region that the Hellions made first contact with the Pacific Pact.

MOJAVE WASTES

The sleepy town of Barstool hosted the Hellions in the Mojave Wastes during the Wandering. The region is home to numerous strange and terrible creatures, from unassuming Fire Geckos to mighty Sand Wurms, as well as fierce Sand Raiders and many strange peoples besides. A wealth of Pre-Fall ruins lies buried the surface, tempting brave Joneses with the promise of wealth and mystery. The Hellions helped the Mojave Jones Society to unearth the secrets of Project Roanoke. They discovered too late, however, that some secrets are best left buried.

THE EMPIRE

The Empire is the name for both the collective Quiet Folk Townships, and the lands they and the Tainted Kiths inhabit. The fertile land is prime for agriculture, but the crops are continually threatened by the seasonal migrations of mutant cicada swarms. Notorious criminals may find themselves thrown in The Hole, a sunken complex serving as both a prison and Lascarian colony, which also has some uncertain connection to Project Roanoke.
